Who done it? : an investigation of murder most foul, by Jon Scieszka

Who would desire to murder the repulsive and cruel book editor Herman Mildew? Evidently everyone who has dealt with him, or at least 83 of the top children and young adult authors.

The story begins with an invitation to a gathering at the “Old Abandoned Pickle Factory” by Herman Mildew. Then starts the interrogation, followed by the list of suspects.

The “suspects” alibis are two to three page statements that the abused and neglected suspects have written. There is a vast amount of finger pointing, back stabbing, confessions (of a desire to murder) and excuses between the suspects. At the end you want to stand up and cheer that Herman Mildew is no longer with us.

The imaginations of these talented writers was quite refreshing, I found several of their excuses hilarious. I believe that anyone who is familiar with these authors would enjoy this book.

I hope that 826NYC reaps a lot of benefits ($) of this joint venture.
