The Peacemaker, by Lori Copeland

This is the first book in the Men of the Saddle series. This title can fit into more than one genre (romance, western, Christian fiction). One reviewer on Amazon.com described it best: Old West setting with fun and flair. The story begins in 1865 Missouri soon after the Civil War. Two brothers, Beau and Cole Claxton, are heading home from fighting in the war. They witness a band of robbers stealing from a group of stagecoach passengers. When the robbers get away, the brothers try to help the stranded passengers.

One of the passengers, Wynne Elliott, has traveled from Georgia to Missouri to seek revenge on her former fiancĂ© for jilting her at the altar. Having just been robbed of her money, she has no one to turn to. Beau offers to bring her to the Claxton’s home. His older brother Cole doesn’t think that would be a good idea. Wynne and Cole take an immediate dislike to each other. Little does she know that Beau and Cole are the brothers of Cass, her target of revenge.
