Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist, by Liz Kessler

It doesn't get any better than mermaids, love affairs, peril and friendship. Liz Kessler’s Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep set the stage for a series of mermaid books sure to capture the imagination of everyone who has dreamed of a fin-tastic alternate lifestyle full of adventure and discovery. The latest in the series, Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist continues the story of a 12 year old girl who discovers she is half human and half mermaid.

Trying to cope with learning the ways of the “sirens of the sea” and struggling with her parents’ potential separation has Emily on edge. Add to the mix Neptune’s belligerent demand for the recovery of lost treasure and his curse on any and all who love from different worlds (land and sea) and Emily is in way over her fins. In a desperate attempt to keep her parents together, Emily defies Neptune and with her friends’ help discovers the reason for his anger.

The continuing adventures of Emily Windsnap, as she charts her path between land and sea, will be a must read for thrill seekers of all ages.
