This is a really sweet “cozy” mystery. Nell Fitzgerald is the main character. She comes to the town of Archers Rest, to visit her grandmother, when her engagement is suddenly ended. Her grandmother owns a quilt shop in the town, and has made her a beautiful quilt along with the other quilters in her guild. Nell comes to love the town and her grandmother’s friends when she decides to stay in town to help her grandmother, after a fall breaks her grandmother’s leg.
During this time, a contractor helps to expand her grandmother’s shop, and her ex-fiance pops into town – and becomes jealous of Nell’s budding romance with the contractor. It’s a cute romance between Nell and the contractor, and then when he is found dead, between Nell and the local Sheriff. All in all, it held my interest throughout, and was very similar to the Jennifer Chiaverini Elm Creek quilt series.
