Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery is a story about an orphan girl who is adopted by a brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. They originally wanted to adopt a boy to help out around their farm, but after a mix-up they receive a girl named Anne Shirley.
This book is a coming of age story about Anne. She is a very talkative girl with a big imagination. She spends many hours day dreaming which gets her into trouble quite a lot. This is a great classic story.
