The Wall: Growing Up Behind The Iron Curtain, by Peter Sis

Sometimes dreams come true, though they make take a lifetime.

Sometimes you cannot share your dreams with anyone else because then you may not be allowed to dream at all.

Sometimes your dreams sustain you when all else collapses around you.

So author/illustrator Peter Sis describes his childhood behind the Iron Curtain in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Secret drawings and stories, during secret times when it was easy to brainwash a child. A child can be told what to think and how to live, expectations for life can be controlled and even monitored with families spying on each other.

A compelling illustrated history of a time always remembered and one never to be forgotten.
