Miss Julia Speaks her Mind by Ann B. Ross

With a Dash of Fortitude

Miss Julia Speaks her Mind, by Ann B Ross

After the unexpected death of her husband of 44 years, Miss Julia is more than just a grieving widow, she’s a rich one on the verge of finding herself. Freed from her husbands sheltering, she must learn to manage money, run the household, and carry on the reputation that her husband built in their small town.

Just when she thinks she’s got her new life under control, an unexpected visitor arrives with news that would send anyone into a tailspin. Hazel Marie Puckett appears at her door with a 9 year old boy, who she announces is her late husband’s son. Before the shock has worn off, Hazel Marie turns and leaves to go and get some training so that she can support her son. In the meantime, she is leaving him with Miss Julia. There are numerous twists and turns involving the boy.

In the end, by her words and actions, Miss Julia proves herself to be worthy of taking care of money wisely. She makes friends with all kinds of people, trusts her good instincts and speaks her mind whenever she sees fit.

This is the first book in a series and is a fast read. I really did enjoy it and have read two others since.
