American Thighs: The Sweet Potato Queens’ Guide to Preserving Your Assets by Jill Conner Browne

Jill Conner Browne’s latest, American Thighs: The Sweet Potato Queens’ Guide to Preserving Your Assets, is a reminder why The Boss Queen continually finds herself atop the Best Seller lists. In it, she relates the story of the girl who turned herself purple, explains just who Mere Ordinary Mortals are, and clues in those not raised below the Mason-Dixon as to just how a Southern belle can cuss you out in such a way you won’t even realize it happened.

With her characteristic ability to tweak the English language and make it her own, Browne has once again pulled together stories from her own life (and from the lives of Queens the world over) to show how life looks at all ages, and from all ages. A must-read for anyone in need of a good laugh and a reminder on how not to take life too seriously.
