I have never read Richard Ford. He has written Independence Day and the Sportswriter which have earned him a lot of respect not just as a Mississippi writer, but a contemporary American writer. I loved listening to Ford's conversation and his opinions of other writers. I love his lack of ego, his intellect, and his Mississippi accent. Ford, I want to read!
