Swift Horse, by Cassie Edwards

Native American Romance

This book is another of Ms Edwards’ Native American romance series. These series are filled with excitement, romance, and mystery. She combines with these an emphasis on authentic customs and languages in each book.

In this book Marsha Eveland and her parents are on their way to Kentucky in 1850 to join her brother. Her brother, Edward James, runs a trading post in the Creek village. On their way to join him, they are attacked by a one-eyed renegade and Marsha’s parents are killed. Marsha decided she could never forgive the Indians for this. After she arrives at the trading post, Marsha’s brother announces he is going to marry Soft Wind the sister of the Creek chief, Swift Horse.

Marsha begins to fall in love with Swift Horse. Then she discovers that Swift Horse’s lifelong friend is the warrior who killed her parents and that he wants to kill her too. Marsha must come to terms with the fact that Swift Horse may never believe her about his friend. She must decide between revenge and true love.
