Death in a Hot Flash, by Jane Isenberg

Light who-dun-it

Death in a Hot Flash is a light who-dun-it about Bel Barrett, a middle aged college instructor whose co-worker gets murdered .She and two of her friends set out to help solve his murder when one of the students, an ex-con is accused of his murder. There is a back story that touches on the other side of Bel’s life. She deals with the unexpected death of her father, a female student who’s stalking her, her mother moving in with her, and menopause. She’s also worries about her two kids who are away at college, and a live-in boyfriend who’s always out of town.

The book was a light read but in my opinion too much dialogue and not enough action. If you like a nice mystery without a lot of detailed violence, language and gore this one is for you.
