Prince Charming, by Julie Garwood
Love in the Mountains
The party is lively and the greedy relatives are gathering, waiting for old Lady Esther Stapleton to die. Her son, Malcom, and his daughter are already counting the money. But Lady Stapleton will have the final laugh. She already transferred the money to her beloved granddaughter Taylor.
But the year is 1868 and the only way Taylor can get around the male favoring inheritance laws, is to marry. That is why Lady Stapleton has searched and found a man to marry her and take her away from England and Uncle Malcom. Lady Stapleton hires Lucas Ross to marry, protect and take Taylor to America. Lucas thinks that once he is in America he will quietly get a divorce and go back to his mountain home. Their arrival is complicated by the fact that Taylor’s orphaned nieces, that she was planning to raise, have been kidnapped. Lucas and Taylor begin the search for her nieces. Predictably they fall in love with each other.
This is a fun read book. Like a fairy tale, Taylor is the princess and Lucas is Prince Charming and they live happily ever after.
