Two Love Stories
Jennifer writes a daily column for a Chicago newspaper, a column that is harder and harder to write since her husband, Danny, drowned in Hawaii and she lost the baby she was carrying. There is one person that she loves very much who has always been there for her, her grandmother, Sam. Jennifer gets a call from an old family friend saying that Sam has taken a fall and things are not looking good. Jennifer leaves immediately to be at her grandmother’s side.
When she arrives, Sam is in a coma and the doctors are unsure about when she will wake up. So Jennifer moves into Sam’s house on Lake Geneva, where Jennifer spent most of her summers. As she enters her bedroom, she finds letters. She soon realizes these letters are from her grandmother and she had left them for Jennifer to find. In these letters Sam tells a story of her life with a lot of surprises and intrigue. It is a story of love but not with her grandfather.
Jennifer is reintroduced to Brendan, a childhood playmate who is also revisiting the Lake to capture some of his past and ponder his future. He is now a doctor and very handsome. Jennifer tries to stay away but is finally attracted to him. As she reads Sam’s letters, she discovers Brendan has his own secret.
This book has a warm but touching ending with two love stories.
