Stardust, by Neil Gaiman

To Catch a Falling Star

Stardust, by Neil Gaiman

Life moves at a slow pace for the people in the tiny town of Wall. The village of Wall is so named for the stone barrier that divides it from the meadow. Nobody is allowed to cross into this meadow for it leads into the world of Faerie and the only gap in the barrier is guarded by armed townsmen. However, once every nine years the guard is relaxed for a town fair involving both Wall and Faerie. An indiscretion on that night, results in the birth of Tristan Thorn.

Tristan’s quest begins when he promises to bring Victoria, the prettiest girl in Wall, a falling star. Thus begins his exploration into the magical world of faerie where he soon learns that nothing is as it seems. This is a grownup fairy tale containing love, romance, comedy, and magic that combines to form an unforgettable journey.

This book was also made into a movie that is very entertaining.
